WATCH: First look at new series of The X Factor!
Airing last night in the half-time advertisements of England’s sad exit from the Euros 2016, viewers were treated to a first look at the 2016 series of The X Factor.
Featuring a gym instructor/McDonalds manager as their contestant, the judges at first seemed perplexed by his original song “Friday Night” but it’s not long before the beat sweeps them away.
Dry ice, a pumping beat and those catchy lyrics are surely on to a winner: “I want to keep moving, all night. I want to dance, all night. I want to drink, all night. I want to party, all night. I want to enjoy this night because it’s Friday night.”
Any contestant that can get Simon reaching for the roof should get a guaranteed pass through this audition round in our book. Unfortunately we won’t find that out until the show airs later this year.
It was also announced yesterday that Radio 1 DJ Matt Edmondson will be the new host of The Xtra Factor on ITV2, taking over from Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom. The pair released this spoof video this morning.
