Twin Peaks revival: The surprising, star-studded cast is revealed
After a whole lot of confusion and indecision, the Twin Peaks revival is finally underway. Following months of silence, US cable network Showtime, alongside executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost, has now unveiled the official cast for the much anticipated new series. Needless to say, it’s pretty incredible.
Among the many surprising names set to appear on the 217-member cast list include David Duchovny, Monica Bellucci, Tim Roth, Laura Dern, Michael Cera, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Amanda Seyfried, and Naomi Watts, plus musicians Sky Ferreira, Trent Reznor, and Eddie Vedder, and David Lynch himself.
Among the notable names missing from the list are original series stars Lara Flynn Boyle, who played Donna, Piper Laurie, who played Catherine, and Michael Ontkean, who played the sheriff.
The confirmation of the full cast (shown below) comes after principal photography wrapped on the series, which we expect to see in 2017.
