Suranne Jones reveals massive secret about Doctor Foster series 2
Doctor Foster‘s Suranne Jones has made a big confession about series two of the BBC drama.
The second instalment of Doctor Foster is almost upon us and we can barely contain our excitement. However, it sounds as though we should thank our lucky stars for the sequel after lead actress Suranne revealed she almost turned down the offer to film a follow-up.
Speaking to the Radio Times, Jones admitted: “I wasn’t entirely sure whether I wanted to do number two.”
She added: “To do number two just because something was successful, I didn’t feel that was the right thing to do.”
The psychological thriller returns to our screens on Tuesday, September 5 at 9pm on BBC One and you can take a first look at the new series in the trailer released two weeks ago:
The first full trailer confirms the animosity between Gemma Foster and her ex-husband Simon is still in full force, after his infidelity was realised in the last series.
According to Jones, we should expect some real war-like episodes in the upcoming instalment. The actress teased some Western-style stand-offs between two particular characters in the upcoming series. Speaking at the Virgin TV BAFTA TV Awards last May, she said: “I’m hoping it will be better, different.
“It’s kind of two people at war, so Mike Bartlett wrote it as a contemporary Western, and it does feel like that.”
