Sia has written a song for X Factor’s Saara Alto
X Factor‘s Saara Aalto has announced that Sia has written a song for her new album.
The X Factor runner up flew back to her home country of Finland yesterday where she announced to her fans that she has signed a five-album deal with Sony Music UK and Sony Music Finland.
Saara gushed: “I arrived at the airport and there were so many people waiting for me, media, fans, with hearts with my name and they were welcoming me home. I was afraid nobody would come but there were so many people, I was really happy, that was the best homecoming ever.
“I have this record deal with Sony Music UK and Sony Music Finland, together so we’re going to make a very global album next year. I can’t wait to get back to work next year.”
The Finnish singer also revealed that global sensation Sia has already given her a song to record. Writer and singer of hits such as “Chandelier”, “Elastic Heart” and “The Greatest”, Sia has grown into a phenomenal success over the last few years and Saara confessed her total delight over this new partnership.
She said: “I’m now working with some of the best songwriters in the world and Sia has written a song that has been given to me.
“Oh my god, it’s just insane. I think Sia is a pretty good reference for me because her way of singing and the way she composes the melodies and writes the lyrics is very similar to what I’ve always done.
“I describe my own music as epic love pop. I don’t want to sing about going to a party with friends, I want to sing meaningful songs that can inspire people and I think Sia’s songs are really deep.
“”Chandelier” is about young girls who think they have to please others to be loved and that really touched me. The lyrics are so inspiring and life-changing.”
The singer concluded by admitting how overwhelming the whole X Factor aftermath has been: “I think it hasn’t really sunk in yet, it’s too much, it’s too big.
“I’ll probably understand in January when we are ready to start work on the tracks.”
