Piers Morgan accused of sexism after inappropriate remark on Good Morning Britain
Good Morning Britain viewers have criticised host Piers Morgan for making inappropriate sexual comments about his co-presenter Susanna Reid.
Susanna Reid was not the only one left open-mouthed after Piers Morgan’s comments on Good Morning Britain this week. The presenter angered viewers at home with his remarks towards his colleague during a segment on the 1 Million Minutes Campaign, which was raising awareness for older people who might be lonely this Christmas.
The hosts introduced a clip showing Susanna being transformed by a group of make-up artists in order to age her by 40 years, before showing the final result:
After her end result was unveiled, Susanna said: “That’s me at 85.”
To which Piers responded: “I still would…
“I mean I still would appreciate your work as a broadcaster!”
The comment clearly shocked Susanna, who hit back by saying: “Piers Morgan, sometimes you walk a very fine line.”
Obviously sensing he may have overstepped the mark, Piers changed the subject: “To be honest, how did it feel to look ancient?”
However his fellow journalist refused to let Piers get away with his remark that easily, replying: “It was not quite as astonishing as my reaction to what you just said.”
Viewers took to Twitter, labelling Piers as a “sexist” for his language:
@GMB Isn’t it time Piers Morgan was reprimanded or sacked? His comments and behaviour is tantamount to sexual harassment of Susanna.

This isn’t the first time Piers has made some slightly suggestive comments about his co-host’s appearance. In a previous episode, the presenter remarked: “With the wrong angle it may look like I was ogling your admittedly extremely eye-catching…”
Has Piers simply taken it too far this time?
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6:30am on ITV.
