Netflix Confirms It Won’t Insert Ads In Future
Netflix has swiftly denied reports that it is toying with the idea of inserting pre-roll and post-roll ads in its original programming.
It was claimed by Vice yesterday that the on-demand platform was experimenting with advertisements that play before and after users watch a video. According to Vice, these will initially only be in-house ads promoting Netflix content.
However, a Netflix spokesperson has been quick to rubbish the claims, telling New York Times reporter Emily Steel that they had “zero intention” of adding advertisements to videos.
The news will surely come as a relief to more than 30 million Netflix users.
