Made in Chelsea’s Tiff says it’s “a good thing” her sister Lucy Watson has quit the show
Made in Chelsea star Tiffany Watson has revealed she is secretly glad her sister Lucy is leaving the programme.
Lucy Watson recently announced her departure from MIC, and she will be a real loss to the E4 reality series this year, as her infamously icy cold looks, argumentative attitude and razor-sharp tongue made for terrific (if not slightly terrifying) viewing. Not one to hold back on her opinion, nor afraid to have a good stir, Lucy was often the source of drama on the show and so she will be greatly missed for that reason.
For the other cast members, however, her exit is probably a slight sigh of relief! Often in the firing line of Lucy’s wrath was her sister, Tiff, whose relationship, career and friendships have all been targets of attack by her older sister on the show.
Tiff told Digital Spy: “I think it’s a good thing Lucy has left because I can be more of my own person and do my own thing.”
“It’s obviously weird without her because she’s been on it, and I joined with her being on there and she was a massive part of it. She can do her own thing and explore other things, which is great and there’s no bad blood or anything.”
There have been rumours that Watson left the Chelsea gang because it was impacting negatively on her relationship with co-star James Dunmore. However, Tiffany denied these claims, explaining how Lucy just wants to “explore other opportunities”.
She continued: “It’s not because of James. She left because when you’re on the show you have to put your all into it and it doesn’t give you time to do other things because you’re so focused on making a great TV show.
“And I think there are other opportunities she wants to explore so I think she’ll be putting her all into that. She’s done it for four years.”
Although Lucy was an integral aspect of Made In Chelsea, fans should not despair just yet as we do have some new faces on the way for series 12. Amongst the newbies is Emily Blackwell, who it is hoped will take on Lucy’s role as the female villain on the show. She has already admitted that she is not one to get along with other girls, and is apparently described as an “ice maiden” by her own family. Lucy may have gone, but it sounds like the rest of the cast shouldn’t get too comfortable!
It will be interesting to see if Emily can take on Watson’s role successfully. Although we’re pretty sure Lucy is one of a kind.
