Love Island spoilers: New boy Jonny comes between Amber and Kem
New Love Island contestant Jonny Mitchell has already disrupted the couples’ dynamic after making a beeline for Amber Davies.
Arriving in the villa alongside fellow newbie Chris Hughes last night, Jonny wasted no time in finding a potential partner on the show.
However, the new addition to the group might ruffle some feathers as it just so happens the girl he desires is also the object of Kem Cetinay’s affections.
In a first look video, Jonny told Amber: “As I told you last night, you are obviously my type but I didn’t realise I was sitting next to Kem when I said it. It was a bit awkward.
“But I know that you two have got something going on. I think it’s quite early doors for me anyway, but I think he’s quite a nice geezer. I’m not here to make trouble, if everyone’s consensually happy.”
Amber seemed unfazed at first, telling the camera: “Straightaway Jonny said I was his type. I think it’s because he gravitates towards brunettes. I just don’t think he’s got much game. He’s a nice boy and he doesn’t want to tread on anyone’s toes.”
However, she later revealed to Jonny: “I think what you need to remember though is that it’s day four, it’s not week four. I want to reassure you my basket’s open, do you know what I mean? It’s an open game right now.”
Kem, on the other hand, hasn’t been playing it quite as cool as his current flame. Chatting with fellow Islander Sam Gowland, Kem revealed how his feelings for Amber are only getting stronger and stronger.
“Mate I ain’t gonna lie. I think I’m melting bad,” he said. “Last night when I started kissing her I was getting goosebumps. It was just unreal. I waited for it for so long.
“Then finally. It is just so weird in here, it is just so intense. You can just go like that with someone. I was lying in bed thinking ‘I can’t wait to go and talk to her.’ Is that normal?”
His insisted he does not feel threatened by Jonnny’s arrival, however. “He’s not as good looking as me, simple as that. I’ve got better chat, I’ve got better game, I’m a better looking geezer,” he continued.
“At the end of the day they’re not Kem. They’re not. They might be half decent looking but have they got the chat? Are they sensitive? So I don’t think they’ve got enough in their locker to threaten me in any way.”
Love Island continues tonight (Thursday) at 9pm on ITV2.
