Laura Whitmore is the latest celebrity to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing
Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here host Laura Whitmore has been confirmed as the third celebrity to join this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The 31-year-old presenter said: “It’s an incredible show and I feel so honoured to be asked to be part of it. I’m not going to lie, I’m slightly petrified too!”
“Anyone who has ever met me knows this. I just love the endorphins it releases and it ties in to my love of music. I am a bit of a silly dancer so I’m looking forward to a bit of discipline.”
The news was unveiled by Whitmore to DJ Nick Grimshaw on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show, in which she confessed she had turned down offers to appear in the show before and “was afraid they might not ask me again”.
Despite her inability to participate on previous years, Whitmore said she had been a “big fan” of Strictly from the beginning.
Other celebrities rumoured to be joining the Strictly 2016 lineup include Louise Redknapp, Judge Rinder and Helen Skelton.
We’ll have more news as it breaks.
