Jonathan Creek to return for the “spookiest episode ever”
Jonathan Creek will return for a new one-off special.
Alan Davies is set to reprise his role as mystery-solving magician Jonathan Creek for a new 90-minute one-off special to air later this year.
Davies teased that “Jonathan Creek’ finds himself in real danger. It’s the spookiest episode ever.”
The episode will be titled ‘Daemons’ Roost’ and is written by David Renwick. It will focus on a film director, Nathan Clore, who lives in a 19th century former home of a ‘sorcerer’ who terrorised his victims.
However, when Clore discovers the truth and tries to share the information with his stepdaughter Alison, he is struck down by a debilitating stroke.
Jonathan will be then called upon to investigate the case, but his attempts to uncover the truth will reveal a horrific past of gruesome rituals that once took place in the dungeon of Daemons’ Roost.
The BBC’s controller of comedy commissioning, Shane Allen, said: “Another sublime and intricately conceived treat from David Renwick and a welcome return for Alan Davies in this signature role.
“You can see the influence of David’s unique blend of dark comedy and crime drama across television since the debut of this show nearly 20 years ago, as it remains a pioneering class act and evergreen favourite with the audience.”
