Jenna Dewan clears up Channing Tatum “flirting” rumours
Jenna Dewan has addressed rumours concerning her recent split with Channing Tatum.
Despite insisting they had “lovingly” separated earlier this week, rumours have still been running wild about the reason behind Channing and Jenna’s split.
It has been speculated that Channing’s drinking and flirtatious behaviour could have motivated Jenna’s decision to leave her husband of eight years. During an interview with Star magazine 2015, the Magic Mike star confessed (via The Mirror): “I probably drink too much. My wife, that’s what she bought into.”
Reports also claimed the actor had been caught flirting with other women when filming for Foxcatcher in 2014.
However, Jenna has since dismissed these allegations. Responding to recent reports, the actress’ representative told the MailOnline: “Happy to clarify that absolutely none of these rumours are true.
“The reason our statement was so positive [was] because that’s the reality of the situation.”
The pair released a joint statement this week in which they announced their split. The post read: “Hey world! So… We have something we would like to share.
“First off, it feels odd that we have to share this kind of thing with everyone, but it’s a consequence of the lives we’ve chosen to lead, which we also happen to be deeply grateful for.
“We’re living in an incredible moment in time, but it’s also a time where truth can easily get distorted into ‘alternative facts’ so we want to share the truth so you know that if you didn’t read it here then it’s most certainly fiction.”
“We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,” the message continued.
“We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together.
“Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realising it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.
“We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly.
“We won’t be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family’s privacy.”
“Sending lots of love to everyone, Chan&Jenna.”
Channing and Jenna first met whilst filming Step Up in 2006 and fell for one another almost instantly. The pair got married three years later in 2009, before giving birth to their daughter Everly, who is now four years old.
