#Holtisms: The Captain’s best moments on Brooklyn Nine-Nine so far
We at TV Daily can’t get enough of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. In particular, we love Andre Braugher in his award-winning role as Captain Raymond Holt.
While our affection for the poker-faced police principal should require no explanation, you may be wondering; what makes Holt better than Boyle, or preferable to Peralta?
Allow us to demonstrate:
We love Holt’s ability to maintain composure whilst atop an exercise ball.
We love his stoicism in times of pain,
…and in times of personal crisis.
We love his exasperation with Peralta’s antics,
and his ability to embarrass him in front of his colleagues.
We also love his relationship with his husband,
and his fondness for the film Moneyball.
Not to mention his attempts at stand-up comedy,
and his appreciation of others’ jokes.
We loved the time he was obsessed with ‘Kwazy Cupcakes’,
and the time he revisited his childhood in a staff training exercise.
We seriously love his commitment to equality in the NYPD,
and also that he always looks fantastic.
Above all, we love the way that Captain Holt’s a real softie beneath his expressionless exterior.
We hope he makes you smile too.
Season 2 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine continues Thursdays at 9pm on E4.
