Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner teases “power trip” for Sansa Stark in season 7
We still have half a year to wait for season seven of Game of Thrones, and we’re desperate for any titbits from the new series.
Thankfully, this week Sansa Stark actor Sophie Turner has delivered, teasing Sansa’s “power trip” journey in the new series.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Turner said: “She’s seemingly in control for the first time – and it really suits her. She’s kind of having a bit of a power trip.”
As fans will remember, Sansa ended season six on a high after reclaiming her ancestral home and murdering vicious husband Ramsay Bolton. It was Sansa, rather than her brother Jon, who won the Battle of the Bastards for the Stark family. She may not have got the credit she deserved for her efforts, as the Stark bannermen named Jon “King of the North”, but she’ll probably still be better at day-to-day ruling than a man who got himself killed by his own men.
However, Sansa fans needn’t get too excited, as Turner added: “But she’s also becoming more insecure, because there are threats to the power that she holds.”
Season seven of Game of Thrones will premiere in Summer 2017 after an extended break due to filming conditions, and Turner has promised the new season is “ramping up” for a thrilling finale.
She said: “What overall excites me about this season is that main characters are coming together and it feels like things are ramping up. It’s really exciting and all feels like it’s coming to a big conclusion.”
