Four of Diamonds finally make X Factor exit
Four of Diamonds have left The X Factor, after their third consecutive week in the sing-off.
The girl group, which comprises Sophia, Caroline, Yasmin and Lauren, originally joined the 2016 series of the show as a last minute replacement for Brooks Way – who pulled out after abuse allegations. However, their time on the show was troubled as they found themselves in the sing-off for three weeks on the trot before finally bowing out tonight (November 6).
In a surprise result, Four of Diamonds, Over 25s act Saara Aalto and Girls act Sam Lavery received the lowest number of votes over the weekend. Sam was fortunately saved by the app vote, leaving Saara and Four of Diamonds to battle it out to remain in the competition.
Four of Diamonds performed a rendition of Whitney Houston’s “When You Believe” in their bid to stay on the X Factor, while Saara performed a slowed-down version of Jessie J’s “Who You Are”. Only mentor Louis Walsh opted to save the girl group, with fellow judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger all choosing to put Four of Diamonds out of their perpetual misery on the show.
The departure of the ailing girl band did not create the biggest social media buzz of the night however, as controversial star Honey G ignited attention with a failed attempt at a celebration after hearing the news she would be staying in the competition. The contestant attempted a floor slide after it was revealed she was ‘safe’ for the night, but unfortunately her leather trousers made things a little difficult.
Perhaps Four of Diamonds will be quite relieved to leave the show with dignity however, as next week’s X Factor show theme will be the dreaded ‘Disco’ week. We look forward to what Honey G can come up with.
