Channel 4’s Great British Bake Off trailer has finally landed
The 2017 Great British Bake Off trailer has been released.
The brand new series of the Great British Bake Off returns to our television screens very soon, albeit on a different channel, and fans are gearing themselves up for another summer of baking dramas, soggy bottom puns and sensational show stoppers.
The new trailer landed this afternoon (August 3) and Channel 4 has given viewers a taster of what’s to come in the new series:
We can already see quite some departure from the BBC edition with this slightly trippy advert, which sees a variety of baked creations singing Paul McCartney and the Frog Chorus’s “We All Stand Together”.
Channel 4’s chief creative officer Jay Hunt admitted that the new GBBO has definitely “got a new tone to it.”
It was announced earlier this year that the new series of Bake Off will run for 75 minutes per episode, rather than the usual hour long instalment.
When the popular baking series made the transfer from the BBC to Channel 4 last year, many fans of the show were concerned that the regular advert breaks would mean a reduced amount of Bake Off content. However, the broadcaster has confirmed that there will remain an hours worth of viewing material in the 2017 series.
A spokesperson for the show said: “We have always promised viewers that they would not be short-changed on the show, even though we are an ad-funded channel. The programme will run for 75 minutes to allow that.”
Great British Bake Off will air soon on Channel 4.
