Brexit disrupts plans for new Mrs Brown’s Boys movie
The sequel to Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie could be on its way to becoming the latest Brexit casualty.
Speaking with The Sun, the TV-turned-cinematic comedy’s creator and star Brendan O’Carroll revealed of the second Mrs Brown’s Boys movie: “We were planning to do it this year but the numbers weren’t right”.
Expanding on how Britain’s unstable currency has disrupted the progress of production, O’Carroll explained: “The Brexit drop in Sterling makes it a lot more expensive for the studio than it would have been previously”.
However, everything else is already in order for the sequel to push on ahead if the pound were to stabilise in the near future.
“The plot and outline are there and ready to go. We know what’s going to happen and how we’re going to do it”, said O’Carroll.
In the meantime, we’re loving Mark Kermode’s reaction to it all:
Chaos. Disharmony. Disaster. But on the plus side … https://t.co/63czXf9wlU
